The traditional folk art parade plays an important role in our agricultural society.  At first, when people immigrated from Mainland China to Taiwan, the time was so difficult that people had to strongly rely on deities and religions to solve problems and give them faith to live.  They would bring deity statues or joss along the way and put them in a house or hanged on a tree for supplication.  When life became easier, they built temples for deities, using those statue or joss as symbols.
Time after time, these deities have become local patron saints and people hold annual festival to worship and present their gratitude.  During the preparation of the festival, young men will be recruited to practice the local parade performance called “Din Tao Arts”, which is the legacy of folk arts through generation and now the most unique culture show in village. Besides the function of entertaining, it possesses the educational, coherent and defensive functions.
